Uranium is Element #92

The Element I chose to do is Uranium.

Uranium in 3 different languages is Uranio , Uraan, and Uran.

As a pure element, Uranium looks silvery, metallic and like a rock in its natural form.
Its crystal structure is Orthorhombic.

IsotopeAtomic mass (ma/u)Natural abundance (atom %)Nuclear spin (I)Magnetic moment (μ/μN)
234U234.0409468 (24)[0.0055 (2)]00
235U235.0439242 (24)[0.7200 (51)]7/2-0.35
238U238.0507847 (23)[99.2745 (106)]00

The number of protons in a Uranium atom is 92 .
Number of Neutrons in a Uranium atom is 146 .
The average atomic mass of Uranium is 238.0289 amu.

The number of Uranium electrons per shell - 2,8,18,32,21,9,2
There are 92 electrons in the neutral form of the element.

The bond length in UU is: 277 pm
Atomic Radius (empirical): 175 pm

Bulk properties

I have 0.00008999999999999999 g of uranium inside of me, which is approximately 1 ppb by weight.

Abundance in the Earths Crust:
2.7 parts per million by weight, 0.25 parts per million by moles.

I was not able to find the amount of Uranium in the Universe, because it is being studied to date the Universe, because it was probably first created when a star blew up.

URANIUM creates Fluorides, Chlorides, Bromides, Iodides, Oxides, Sulfides, Selenides, Tellurides, Nitrides.

Some examples would be:
The German chemist Martin Heinrich Klaproth discovered the element in 1789 when he recognized an unknown element in the mineral pitchblende.

Uranium is of a lot of interest because of its uses to form nuclear power and nuclear weapons. Uranium contamination is a big environmental problem. It is not extremely rare and is more common than beryllium or tungsten.

I chose to do this element, because i really like watching the TV show, 24. In the TV show, the main character, Jack Bauer, has to save New York from being attacked by a nuclear bomb, made with Uranium-235 rods.
